Issuer Identity and Asset Provenance

A familiar name can help someone recognize an asset. It cannot tell them who issued it, what it represents or which account controls its supply. For a digital asset to be useful, its public presentation must connect to a precise ledger identity. That connection gives holders and integration teams a reliable starting point for verification.
On Stellar, a classic asset is identified by the combination of its asset code and issuing account. Two assets can share a code while having different issuers. A wallet display, a search result or a copied logo should therefore lead back to the exact asset identifier before it is treated as a match.
A useful asset record connects technical identity with the information a holder needs to evaluate it. Two parts deserve particular attention:
Stellar provides conventions for publishing asset information through a stellar.toml file. This makes issuer and asset details easier for compatible services to discover. The file is useful documentation; the accuracy of a claim still depends on the evidence behind it.
A recognizable asset should also be a verifiable asset: its name, ledger identifier, issuer information and applicable terms should tell one consistent story.
Provenance continues after issuance. Changes to issuer information, asset controls or administration need a clear record. Holders should be able to distinguish a routine metadata update from a change affecting their rights, access or security assumptions.
For Quantum Stellar, clear identity is a foundation for clear security. Before assessing how an asset is protected, establish exactly which asset and which issuer are being assessed.
